but the thing is alive so it will fight back.

Web resource:

This project breaks your image into pixelated fragments,
echoing how photos get ripped, reused, and reassembled online. It asks: what happens when pieces of you become data—used by AI without your consent?

Statement of intent.

This platform is dedicated to examining the intersection of artificial intelligence and gender inequality, with a particular focus on the experiences of women and young people.  Inspired by Laura Bates' The New Age of Sexism‘, we visually delve into how emerging technologies—such as deepfakes, AI-generated avatars, and algorithmic biases—are perpetuating and amplifying misogynistic narratives in digital spaces.

Our mission is to create a collaborative environment where individuals can engage in meaningful dialogue, share resources, and collectively challenge the digital manifestations of sexism. By fostering a community that values critical reflection and creative expression, we aim to empower voices often marginalized in technological discourse and advocate for a more equitable digital future.

Photos and images hold immense power,
and the question of ownership has become an increasingly important topic—especially within the evolving landscape of feminism.  As ideas around consent continue to shift in this new era, so too does the relationship between photographer and subject.  This work represents our attempt to reframe that dynamic—offering a version of photography and modeling that reflects mutual respect, shared authorship, and conscious collaboration.
